Mark Twain’s short story “The £1,000,000 Bank-Note,” was first published in 1893 in the Century Magazine (45:3, 338-346). In the same year, the text appeared in the collection The £1,000,000 Bank-Note and Other New Stories by Mark Twain, which was released in different formats by three different publishers: Charles Webster & Co in New York (9-44), Chatto and Windus in London (1-39) and, also in an English version, by the German publisher Tauchnitz (Leipzig).
