Varney eine Depesche aus Hartford, Conn., von Mark Twain, in welcher derselbe mittheilte, daß er durch Krankheit verhindert sei, der Vorstellung beizuwohnen, und daß er auffordere, über das Verdienst des Schauspiels abzustimmen. Hr. Varney stellte darauf die Frage an das in großer Anzahl versammelte Publikum, und dasselbe entschied einstimmig, daß das Stück ein Erfolg fei.</td> | |||
