Wenn Uhland seine sieben lustigen Brüder den Umstand als eines Ereignisses gedenken läßt, „daß sich am Waldgebirg drüben ein neues Wirthshaus aufgethan,“ so dürfen auch wir eines gleichen Ereignisses gedenken, jetzt, nachdem der Fremdenstrom den rechten Zug zu bekommen scheint, um denselben auf einen würdigen Punkt zu lenken. Wir meinen Albert’s Schloßhotel in Heidelberg. Wenige Minuten von dem altberühmten Schlosse entfernt, steht es von allen Seiten frei inmitten einer herrlichen Natur. Von seinen Fenstern, seinen 21 Balkons und 5 Terassen sieht man gegen Süden und Osten in die einfache Idylle schön bewaldeter Berge und saftiger Wiesen. Nach Norden taucht der Blick in die wohlige Enge des Neckarthales mit den Höhen des Schlosserweges und der Engelswiese. Nach Osten schweift er freudetrunken durch die reiche Romantik der deutschen Alhambra, Alt-Heidelbergs der feinen und der gegenüber liegenden lachenden Bergparthien und verliert sich mit dem blitzenden Flusse in die weite fröhliche pfälzische Ebene, welche begrenzt wird von den in goldenem Dufte liegenden Bergen der weinfrohen Hardt. Dieß der Blick nach außen. Nicht minder erfreulich ist der Einblick ins Innere des Schloßhotels. Herr Albert, den weitesten Kreisen als ein der besten Wirthe und Kenner des Touristenlebens im großen Style bekannt, hat hier ein wahres Musteretablissement geschaffen. Von Grund aus neu erbaut und im feine Geschmacke eingerichtet, birgt das Schloßhotel 90 Fremdenzimmer, 8 fürstlich möblirte Salons, 1 Damen-, 1 Musik-, 1 Lese- und 1 Billardsalon, sowie 4 getrennte Speisesäle. Küche und Keller liefern nur ausgesucht Feines und in staunenswerther Mannigfaltigkeit, die Bedienung läßt keinen Wunsch übrig. Dennoch sind die Preise des Herrn Albert keineswegs übertrieben, sondern den Leistungen seines Etablissements vollständig angemessen. Ein Besuch dieses einzig dastehenden Gasthofes wird daher jedem Heidelberg besuchenden Touristen zur besonderen Freude gereichen.
