Das kommt davon. Es heißt, Mark Twain wolle noch immer nicht daran glauben, daß die Firma Webster & Co., an welcher er bekanntlich betheiligt ist, Bankerott gemacht hat. Wie jeder professionelle Humorist hat er ein so schlechtes Gewissen, daß er hinter Allem einen schlechten Witz vermuthet. Der Fluch der bösen That. That's just what happens.
