<td>Mark Twain erhält sehr oft aus allen Theilen der Welt Photographien von Leuten, die behaupten, ihm über wältigend ähnlich zu sehen. Kürzlich schrieb ihm ein Herr aus Florida: „Ich schenke Ihnen mein Bild. Sie können selbst sehen, daß es mir leicht fallen würde, mich für Sie auszugeben.“ Mark Twain schrieb ihm darauf zurück: „Thun Sie mir einen Gefallen. Ziehen Sie zu mir. Wenn ich mich dann rasiere, brauche ich nur Sie anzuschauen, und ich kann mir den Spiegel sparen.“</td>
<td>Mark Twain very often receives photographs from all parts of the world from people who claim to look remarkably similar to him. Recently a gentleman from Florida wrote to him: “I gift you my picture. You can see for yourself that it would be easy for me to impersonate you.” Mark Twain wrote back to him: “Do me a favor. Move in with me. Then when I shave, I need only look at you, and I can save myself the mirror.”</td>
