<td>Der berühmte amerikanische Humorist Mark Twain hatte als Schüler eine Dummheit begangen und war von seinem Lehrer zu fünfundzwanzig Hieben verurtheilt worden. Er hatte nämlich seinen Namen auf einem Tisch mit seinem Messer eingekratzt, konnte aber um die Strafe herumkommen, wenn er den Tisch bezahlte, der von dem Besitzer auf fünf Dollars veranschlagt war.</td>
