<td>London, 10. Juli. - Der Stab des „Punch“ gab gestern zu Ehren von Samuel L. Clemens (Mark Twain) ein Diner. Die Gäste saßen an der Tafel, in welche überall die Initialen von Generationen der berühmtesten britischen Schriftsteller eingeschnitten sind. Heute Nachmittag war Hr. Clemens bei einem Gabelfrühstück im Unterhause der Gast von Sir Benjamin Stone, Mitglied des Hauses für East Birmingham. Unter den Anwesenden befanden sich A. J. Balfour und der japanische Botschafter Baron Komura. Hr. Clemens reiste heute von hier nach Liverpool, wo er der Gast des Lordmayors sein wird.</td>
<td>London, July 10. - The staff of “Punch” gave a dinner yesterday in honor of Samuel L. Clemens (Mark Twain). The guests were seated at the table, in which the initials of generations of the most famous British writers are carved. This afternoon Mr. Clemens was the guest of Sir Benjamin Stone, Member of the House for East Birmingham, for breakfast in the House of Commons. Among those present were A. J. Balfour and the Japanese Ambassador, Baron Komura. Mr. Clemens left London today for Liverpool, where he will be the Lord Mayor's guest.</td>
