Letter on the State of the Postal Service
From Mark Twain in the German Language Press
Mark Twain’s letter was dated July 22, 1876. A transcribed and annotated version is available from the Mark Twain Project (UCCL01350). The text was reprinted by several American daily newspapers under different headings. It can be found in Mark Twain on Potholes and Politics (Scharnhorst, 98-99).
